Realtime Clock test: Running this test should cause
the speaker to beep and the screen to flash every five seconds. This is a fundamental test
that must pass before all high level tests will run correctly. It is testing for IRQ7's
ability to run in this computer.
Scale tests: Two types of tests:
Polling mode: Tests only a basic subset of
the scale communications hardware. Use to verify basic scale connections and setup. This
test displays the raw data from the scale including normally non-displayed data.
Interrupt mode: The way the batching software
actually uses the scale port hardware. Use to verify that the batching system software can
read the scales using IRQ3.
Relay tests: Sequentially activates all
output relays on relay board #1; and reads all input relays on relay board #2. By
temporarily changing any relay board's address jumpers, you can test all relay boards.
Joystick port conflict test: On some old computers, because
of the way their hardware is configured internally, there is a conflict between the
joystick port and the Flowcon scale ports.
This test allows
checking the joystick port at its correct address and at addresses to which it should not
respond.
You need a joystick to
run this test.
If your computer does
not have a joystick port (a 15 pin 'D connector), you may ignore this test.
Bunkreader test:
This test allows you to
connect a Lextron bunkreader to serial port COM1 and receive an uploaded bunkreader file
and display it to the screen.
Note: The polling mode scale tests work poorly under windows
because windows hogs too much processor time. This is not a problem when running under
DOS.
