Scale Interface Cables

Typical scale cable adapter assembly used to connect scale indicators to the batcher. They come in two flavors: 20 ma current loop, and RS-232.

This is the connector on the 20 ma current loop adapter which plugs into the Batcher.

This is the 6 pin Molex connector on the 20 ma current loop adapter which the scale indicators plug into.

This is the connector on the RS-232 adapter which plugs into the computer.

This is the 3 pin Molex connector on the RS-232 adapter which the scale indicators plug into.

This is the connector on the Batcher which the 20 ma current loop adapter plugs into. Don't confuse it with a motherboard Com Port jack, as they are electrically incompatable. It's always located on a hanger bracket in an expansion slot, and typically has the ground lug for the relay cable shield fastened to it.

This is the connector on the Batcher which the RS-232 adapter plugs into.

These are expansion RS-232 'D' connectors for other than scale connections - typically display or microbial machine interfaces. May be combined with the 3 pin Molex connectors on the same adapter.

A B+B Electronics 20 ma to RS-232 converter plugged into an expansion RS-232 'D' connector adapter. This adapter is typically used to send 20 ma current loop signals from the Batcher to displays and micro machines, allowing them to be located some distance from the control room.

The following schematic shows how to wire B+B Electronics RS-232 to 20 ma current loop converters to allow the Batcher to send data to remote RS-232 displays or micro machines.
