Probable Cause (in most likely order)

Stuck or bad cooling fans on computer CPU chip.

Stuck or bad cooling fans in computer power supply.

|
Stuck or bad cooling fans on computer video controller chip.

Diagnostic:

|
Observe fans for operation.
|
|
|
Check computer inside for excessively hot heat-sinks or chips.
|
Fix:
|
|
Clean fans.
|
|
|
Replace fans.
|
|
|
Replace CPU chip or motherboard. Overheating a CPU is usually fatal.
|
|
|
Replace power supply.
|
|
|
Always clean dust from computer (use oil-free and water-free
compressed air; avoid excessive pressure).
